daily dose of w

It is not Reaganesque to support a tax plan that is Clinton in nature.

23 Feb 2000
From comments made in Los Angeles and reported by Slate magazine.

It's also not Reaganesque to support expanding economies and balanced budgets that are Clinton(esque) in nature.

Does W have the Reagan nature? Promulgating war crimes and torture, lying to congress, keeping company with corrupt criminals while maintaining a smiling hypocritical veneer? Yes, W has the Reagan nature.

yup, i was saying this last night, that W is a rerun of Reagan with his "split the country in half and take the bigger slice". W has refined it to "split the country in half, take the smaller slice and INSIST it's the bigger slice"

like the great magician he is, he has managed this trick twice.

bush also grasps completely that the Presidency is primarily an acting gig (one of Reagan's insights)

I wonder if W will take up movies after leaving the Gummint and the country with it in shambles. He'd love doing remakes of Reagan b-movie Westerns, I'd bet.

Hmmm, i think some Nazi/grifter thing might suit him better. 90 minutes of patriotic fervour, celebrating his leadfooted lobotomised march to power.

Triumph of the Shill

(Bush's world reminds me of that described in Yevgeny Zamyatin's We. At the end, the public are ordered to undergo surgical procedures to remove their imaginations.)
